Job Description
  • Implementation and administration of the airlines airport policies and procedures including but not limited training programs for related service suppliers at the airport.
  • Ensures the correct deployment of manpower and resources across the operation to ensure a safe and efficient operation at all times and in keeping with the airlines agreed KPI’s.
  • Effectively manage, monitor and measure the operational performance and service levels of the ground handling agent providing regular feedback with a view to continuous improvement.
  • Proactively and efficiently handling customer complaints and resolve such issues within reason, to the satisfaction of both the customer and airline.
  • Set the direction for the team; connect that direction to individuals’ roles and objectives.
  • Work within budget to ensure the airport operations delivers on the airlines business plan requirements,
  • Drive down unit costs and make them controllable and variable.
  • Optimize station administration process and procedures.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate all disruption management handling in keeping with the airlines agreed policies.
  • Ensure at all times both the airlines staff and service suppliers adhere to the airline safety policies and safe operating procedures as to not jeopardise the airlines operations at any time.
  • In conjunction with the Manager Airports participate in periodic reviews and appraisals in relation to performance evaluations of the airlines airport staff.
  • Assist the finance team in the verification and reconciliation of all airport related charges and invoices as required.
  • Ensure airport related documentation is kept up to date and distributed as necessary in accordance with GACARs.
  • Effectively manage and coordinate day-to-day airport operational requirements including the monitoring of on-time performance and dispatch and to take corrective action where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with airport authorities, police, customs, immigration and other related departments.
  • Provide timely information updates as required to ensure key airport stakeholders are aware and kept up to date on the airlines operational requirements.
  • Undertake periodic audits of all service suppliers in respect to the airlines operational and customer service deliverables.
  • Build internal team engagement via effective leadership example and recognition.

Required Skills

• Professional airport working knowledge of associated Ground Handling related activities
• Sound understanding of airport operations and processes
• Good understanding of budgetary requirements & resource planning
• IATA or Airline certification on Passenger/Ramp/Aircraft Handling
• LCC airport operations experience & best practices preferred but not essential.
