Job Description

Public Relations Manager implements company strategy through PR tools and takes operational ownership of building flyadeal’s profile in the Kingdom and in the Region (GCC and the Middle East) through both traditional, and digital media as an innovative and relevant airline brand.

The scope of the role covers building sustainable relationships for flyadeal with the key constituencies, opinion-makers and stakeholders in KSA and in the markets the Company will operate in; building positive public perception; guiding the senior management team in their contacts with the media, and government & regulatory entities; delivering PR events, exhibitions, conferences, own media content and establishing CSR programs. Internally, the role will also support and cooperate on the internal communications program with People department.

Key measures of success are positive public sentiment, goodwill of the government and regulatory entities, and effective internal PR.

The holder of the role is expected to deliver all programs on time and on budget to deliver maximum ROI.

Key Activities:

  • Builds a consistent flyadeal story and value proposition with a long-term perspective of building a positive profile and perception
  • Ensures that the brand purpose and values are always delivered in a way that is culturally relevant and engages the stakeholders
  • Sets and owns PR plan and activity calendar for company milestones, events, exhibitions and conferences
  • Understands the relationship with the Government and regulatory environment and has the ability to advise non-Saudi members of the senior management team on appropriate and culturally respectful interactions
  • Ensures that CEO and senior team executives are always aware and briefed of any challenges or sensitivities in department’s domain

· Proposes and implements innovative approach to PR in digital media as well as offline media

  • Is a fierce advocate of ensuring flyadeal lives up to its brand promise and delivers on its values
  • Builds and manages effective press relations with local and regional press, both media owners and individual journalists
  • Supports route openings through media
  • Develops effective relationships with influencers at large and with industry experts and opinionmakers
  • Prepares and distributes press kits and releases in Arabic and in English in a timely and proactive manner, assuring relevant inputs and sign offs
  • Conceptualizes and co-ordinates external events
  • Identifies, initiates and implements flyadeal’s presence at key exhibitions and conferences in KSA and in the region
  • Owns the key PR and industry event calendar
  • Works with HR on recruitment roadshows
  • Supports Management and HR team with internal PR communications to support initiatives that build internal culture and team spirit, ensuring the brand has consistent tone of voice, follows brand guidelines and agreed messaging
  • Issues a quarterly internal newsletter in co-operation with HR, collecting relevant information across organization and translating it into an engaging newsletter content
  • Owns internal comms intranet content, ensures it is relevant and fresh
  • Work with the e-Commerce team on content elements of the portal and the App, assuring AR and EN copy is correct and on brand
  • Ensure website and App is updated with media relations information and the news
  • Prepares for potential crisis communications, both public opinion and emergency response (ERP) related and is able to handle crisis with a cool head, flexibility and resilience
  • Is a functional member of the ERP team with a responsibility for crafting required announcements and handling media inquiries
  • Proposes and develops effective CSR programs with the impact on shared value to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Contributes to performance and development of other team members,
  • Ensures high ethical standards and compliance with Saudi laws, customs and social responsibilities
  • Is a point of contact for all PR and CSR matters for the organization
  • Contributes to other departments success outside of the basic area of responsibilities

  • Keeps abreast of issues related to travel and aviation with a special focus on the region and on low-cost aviation worldwide

  • In depth understanding of PR environment in KSA as well as the best practice in CSR
